The Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance (SAARA) offers group meetings, training, and other services for those seeking recovery, including for their families, and friends.
REAL LIFE Community Center
The REAL LIFE Community Center offers assistance to “individuals who have been impacted by incarceration or those battling addiction to overcome barriers and obstacles faced within the community that hinder their prosperity and their ability to have a thriving future.”
Refuge Recovery
Refuge Recovery is a mindfulness addiction recovery program that uses a Buddhist philosophy as a core process.
Smart Recovery
SMART Recovery offers a 4-point program that includes empowerment, motivation, behaviors and an ultimate goal of having a healthier style of living. Check out their videos and slide shows.
The Healing Place
The Healing Place (a program of CARITAS) is a long-term residential recovery program that includes a workforce development program, transitional sober living community, and active Alumni Association to sustain lifelong sobriety. Services are currently available for men. By 2020, services for women will be available.

The McShin Foundation is a full service Recovery Community Organization and offers individuals and their family’s programmatic tools and resources to successfully combat substance use disorders.

The VCU Rams In Recovery is a Virginia Commonwealth University program that provides an environment that addresses all addictions for students to succeed in their recovery and academically.
Family Education Programs
